Company Profile

Publishing Solutions & Research Services was formed in April 2007 by Travis and Vivienne Sellers.  The idea for the business came after realising that many not-for-profit organisations were finding it difficult to utilise the benefits of technology and enable them to communicate more effectively.  Our philosophy is to provide organisations with cost effective solutions.

Travis' interest in history began in 1992 when he commenced researching the Brighton General Cemetery (Vic) culminating in 2003 with the launch of his own website www.brightoncemetery.com.  His entry on the Brighton General Cemetery can be seen in the Encyclopedia of Melbourne (2005).  In 1997, Travis instigated

a community project to transcribe the headstone inscriptions of the Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery on microfiche, described by the publisher as one of the best of its kind undertaken in Australia.  Travis inaugurated the formation of the Brighton Cemetorians Inc. (2005-06) and served as Treasurer and Public Officer as well as being President of the Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Inc (2007-present).  He previously served on the committees of the Friends of St. Kilda Cemetery Inc. (2004-05) and the Friends of Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery Inc. (2006-07) and in 2008 co-founded the Australian Federation of Cemetery Friends Inc.  Travis has undertaken well over 1,100 research requests, has edited newsletters totalling 60 issues and designed and maintained a number of websites.

Vivienne comes with a strong background of desktop editing and graphic design.  She is the inaugural Vice-President of The Adam Lindsay Gordon Commemorative Committee Inc. (2006-present) and edits their newsletter The Wayfarer.  She is an inaugural committee member of the Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Inc. (2007-present) and has been the driving force behind unbroken run of fully booked out cemetery tours.

Testimonials

"Travis’ imagination and ability in producing high quality publications is clearly evident in his work over the years for Friends of St. Kilda Cemetery and Brighton Cemetorians and his own website on Brighton Cemetery. One glance at these publications will be sufficient to appreciate the attention to detail, layout, accuracy and precision. Travis kindly assisted the Friends of Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery in the preparation of our first newsletter. Following Travis’ early advice has brought our group many benefits, including the important one of attracting new members. It is indeed the best advertisement we have. I can highly recommend his excellent skills to you." - Elizabeth Hore, President, Friends of Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery Inc.

"Travis took over the role of editing the Friends of St. Kilda Cemetery Incorporated's newsletter in November 2004. Travis was responsible for leading the redesign of the newsletter turning it from an amateurish, rudimentary bulletin into a polished and professional, glossy publication which has received praise in many quarters. Travis is a highly organised and multi-talented person.  He is conscientious and displays a high level of accountability and responsibility.  He is highly focused and good at meeting urgent deadlines. His work displays great attention to detail.  Apart from designing and editing newsletters, I have also witnessed Travis' skills in producing websites, brochures and other publications. I am always impressed with the quality of his work." - Geoff Austin, Secretary, Friends of St. Kilda Cemetery Inc.

"I am pleased to recommend Travis Sellers to you. He has demonstrated his interest in and commitment to preserving local history and helping people gain access to it. He has done this in his work at the Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery in preparing a data base on the headstone inscriptions. As editor of the Brighton Cemetorian he has developed and distributed a newsletter of the highest quality in both appearance and interest.  He has also had several articles posted on the Kingston Historical Website. Overall Travis Sellers' work is characterised by thoroughness, flare and careful documentation." - Dr. Graham Whitehead, City Historian, Kingston City Council.
